NATURE OF THE SOCIETY: The Philippine Folk Art Society of Quebec, is a
non profit organization incorporated under Part Three of the Quebec Companies
Act.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To preserve the Filipino cultural
heritage and to promote appreciation and understanding
of Filipino values, traditions,history and culture
ADMINISTRATION:The Society is run by a board of
directors of 15 elected for two years.The officers are: president,executive vice-president,
vice-president for the Kalinangan Dance Troupe,secretary,associate secretary,treasurer,
auditor, music director,dance director,culture and heritage, membership,communications.
intercultural and community relations,art and literature and government relations.
BOARD OF GOVERNORS: A board. selected from the community-at-large, which serves
as the advisory body to the Society. The members are appointed for two years
MEMBERSHIP OF THE ASSOCIATION: Open to these who believe in the objectives
of the society.
MEMBERSHIP DUES: Family & children below 16, $15.00, Individual $10.00,
Student and Seniors, $5.00.
CULTURAL: The cultural programs, such as films,dance,
music,arts and crafts exhibition, conferences,seminars,
workshops of Filipino and cross cultures on art,history,
and literature; Filipiniana collection; intercultural activities.
EDUCATIONAL: Educational programs on Filipino Culture,
exchange programs among Filipinos in Canada and the philippines.
SOCIAL: Annual summer picnic, tours,cruises,bazar, bake sale(tiyangge), Pangsalubong sa Bagong Taon (New Years Eve Celebration)
